So I got this for my family because we are not huge with BBQ and grilling but do enjoy it from time to time. It's great for small spaces, easily stored in the corner of the yard or taken inside if need be (rainy days etc). My 1 issues making this a 4 out of 5 rating, is that I wish there was a way to heat the grill part and still make the cleaning dishwasher safe. The plug for the electric goes on the pan, making it not dishwasher safe. I still have to scrub the grill as I would a normal BBQ grill, though a much smaller area. I've used it 5 times and found grill mats to use making cleaning easier. Like this product. 4 out of 5.
I got this a little over a month ago, but just started using it. I’m giving it 4 starts because it’s wobbly, and for some reason, it’s sloped, which causes the heat to mainly stay on the left side. Unfortunately, there weren’t any additional parts to help secure it.Aside from that, this is an awesome grill. Great for small spaces. I live in an apartment, and it fits so well on our balcony. When it comes to cleaning, I have a small sink, so it can be challenging. What I usually do is wipe it down with a wet cloth or paper towel, then wash. I also wipe down and clean the grill cover because it’ll end up with some residue. You do have to be careful also because I’ve had grease splatter onto the connecting device. So I wipe that down carefully after every use. Overall, it’s worth the purchase.
Don't think I can live without it. Great grill. I bought this for my small 4' x 6' terrace. There is an outlet out there which is great. This electric grill heats up very quickly on a scale from 1-5. I wish that there was a temperature ratings instead of the vague 1-5 rating. After a while you get used to the settings and tell what numbers you need to use for different foods. The non stick surface is great and cleans pretty easily. The grease pan access could be a bit of a pain as you have to remove the grilling surface plug and take off the grilling surface to reveal the grease pan. If you cook greasy foods regularly, you might have to empty that pan more often. Construction is extremely easy and is very sturdy. All that being said, cooking with an electric grill will give your foods a different flavor from cooking with a gas grill, charcoal grill or smoker. The smokey flavor that is usually desired in barbecue and other foods is definitely lacking, though that does not by any means mean that the food is bad. Everything I have made on that thing is actually great!! It does a good job of temperature control and with the cover on creates a closed space where the food is cooked all over. Great buy!!!
This is a very nice, sturdy indoor, outdoor grill. If you are looking for the gas, charcoal taste this is not it. I have tried using wood chips to help with it to give it more of a outdoor grill taste but so far it has not worked. The grill works great, a little job to clean when you are done. The size of the grill plate will not fit in my sink so I wash it in my laundry tub. The lid is a bit of a pain to do something with while grilling. You can hang it from the side of the grill but it can get in your way. I usually take out a small tv table for the lid, utensils and platter. I would not replace my outdoor grill with this, but if you are looking for something that you can use indoor and outdoor that works good and you do not care about that outdoor grill taste this might be for you. If you have a table or some thing that you can use this grill near by to set your utensils, platters, and misc. down on than this should work for you. If this does not fit you, I would pass, get a regular grill for outside and a regular grill for indoors for bad weather.NOTE: I had some swivel wheels from and old computer chair that fit on the bottom of the feet on this grill. The grill legs were apparently set up for it because the wheels snapped in and works perfect. I have a bad back and it works great for rolling around where ever I want instead of lifting and carrying. That is a big PLUS IN MY BOOK!!
The most disappointing thing about moving into an apartment was no longer being able to grill. While this is no substitute for a gas or a charcoal grill, it does the job nicely on my balcony or in my kitchen. I have so far cooked burgers, hot dogs, and fish on it. I have yet to try steaks or chicken. On the highest setting I was able to get grill marks on the burgers, which was nice. I'd say just make sure you cook your meats at the highest setting if you want to come close to a real grill. While the base of the grill is a bit bulky for my kitchen counter, it does make a nice storage space for the electric cord and the silicone tipped tongs I bought especially for the grill. I have not had a problem getting the top to hang off the side of the grill, you just have to look and make sure it catches along the edge. Putting it a little bit off-center helped that as well. The non-stick coating is great. Everything just slides right off with soap, water, and a little scrubbing of the sponge. The one negative I can say about this is the fat was not draining properly the last time I cooked burgers. So I ended up with some burgers that were essentially being fried in their own fat at the same time as they were being grilled. Maybe my balcony was on a weird angle, I don't know. I gently started pushing some of the grease and fat into the opening so it would drain properly and that helped out a little bit.All in all I'm glad I bought this and I look forward to using it on my balcony for the rest of the summer, and indoors when it starts to get cold out.
