This is THE ONE

OMG!!! This is THE BEST THING EVER!!!! For my needs, the patio heater is perfect. I live on the Gulf Coast and we have winds that make cool evenings frigid. Our cold nights are limited, though, so I did not want to spend high dollar. My heater came quickly, and on a beautiful day. I proceeded to drag the big box out to the patio and settled in fo the installation. I am NOT great with tools - imagine a 50-something widow who needed to rely on the pre-printed pics to remember nuts vs. washers. This was a BLAST to assemble. I would do it again right now. The directions were as clear as could be - the best directions ever! A previous reviewer mentioned changes needed to the directions and they are now done! It told me right off that this manufacturer listened to their consumers. I made absolutely zero errors in my construction. Amazing. A few steps are clumsy for one person, but I got it done. The event was a one-gal blast. It took right at 90 minutes and I puttered. Each step had something involved that pointed toward the end product, so it was motivational. Each piece is very well-constructed and the finished product is stunning. I took great pride in each screw and washer and made sure it was done well. The finishes are lovely. The best part of my adventure was the reward at the end - the lighting of the heater. Bingo! It works like a charm. 1st time. This is really a lovely piece. It IS large, but the profile is slim save the canopy which rises well above head level. What a great price on the piece that is exactly what you see at all outdoor restaurants. I would get another, but this one should just great for my 30x30 patio.

Can be hard to start with some wind but great product!

First off let me start by saying this is not the first deck heater I have bought. We have a very large deck and even in the winter I would much rather sit outside. First let me start by saying putting this together is not to hard the box came in perfect condition and I instantly took it into the man cave to put together. You know one of them man caves that has a sign above door saying woman by invite only. This was to insure I would not have any interruptions. It easily took me a hour and half to put together, that was with my constant distractions of the tv taking my interest away. The heater pieces were packed very nicely and snug. I did not see a single scratch on any of them. As I said earlier this is not my first deck heater. Although the last one I bought at the end of winter as a display model in my local store, and sent my better half up to get it and needless to say the air caught it on the way home in the bed of my truck and sent it airborn. I was then upgraded to the better half. Honestly this deck heater is very good for what it costs it is very comparable to the one home depot had on sale for black friday which I bought one of. It really heats up an area of anywhere from 5 to 15 ft depending on where it's placed. I have them placed all over my deck for winter party's we throw. With the tank in it and the base full of sand (you will need to buy this) it really is sturdy and will withstand some wind. Although I do cover all of them I have left them out in the winter elements for weeks at a time and they still start like a champ. Only problem is starting it with some wind can sometimes be a little bit of a pain. Buy one you won't regret it.

As advertised.

Overall, This heater is really great. Nice and warm and heats quickly. The only problem is that it's over 92 inches tall and barely fits under any standard height patio....not to mention the heat is really high up. Rather than cut and re-drill holes in the upper pipe as numerous reviewers have advised, I found it much easier to just go to the hardware store and buy 6 long bolts and 12 nuts and mount the pipe as shown in the attached (photo #2) rather than as instructed, (photo #1). Now I can adjust the height any way i like without damaging/cutting my heater.

Better quality than others in its price range.

Easy to assemble, having a second person to help installing the top would have been nice, but can be done with one person.Build quality is better than others in this price range, i.e. the Lowes and Home Depot versions. Water tank at bottom is a handy added feature for windy areas.Unit is sturdier than the 3 others I have (Costco/Home Depot and Lowes), full threaded connection between risers, vs 3 screws on other models.Lights easily and so far every time.Overall very happy with the product’s quality given the price point.

Not just a cheap heater, trumps Mainstays(Chant)

The assembly was simple, easy, the parts have some weight to it, the screws are numerous, big and strong. It comes with a wrench. In contrast with Mainstays, no wrench, really light weight, screw holes are not as many, and the screws and wing nuts are smaller and thinner. The plastic film was easy to take off. The bottom piece, you can add water or sand to add some weight to it.In contrast with Mainstays, the film was a pain to take off, it gets stuck on the corner and can't rip it off clean completely. Mainstays provides you long screws to drill the bottom piece to the floor where you installing, needless to say this is a really poor approach; there's no way I'm doing that since I'm planning on moving this to multiple places.Color: Slate Gray | Style: Powder Coated
