We laid down about $65 worth of 20x20 and 12x12 cement pavers under it, just to give it a stable dryer base.? Went up in a few hours - used a power drill or driver to speed it up :)? I like the window and vents.? It seems 'thin' when you unbox it all, but when all screwed together it seems strong.? We have it in a VERY protected corner of the yard, but I would not put this in a field in Kansas!? We have hurricanes but can prepare for those in advance.? I was able to use my just under 4 ft wide yard tool rack, and carefully arranged all my shovels, electric hedge trimmers, and string cutters.? I also rolled in my 2 wheel 2000psi electric pressure washer.? I still have an are under the window I might make a small shelf to hold gloves and hand tools.? I got this from Walmart because I went to HD and L and the plastic sheds they have were all like 2ft or so deep.? This is a tiny house like shed you can walk into, so has more space.? Like I said, I would not put this anywhere it is going to get blasted by winds on a regular basis, but if you can secure it down to the ground and have it in a halfway protected area, it seems like it will stay in one piece.? And no termites, dented metal walls, rust, or rotted wood.? PS It would actually make a great chicken house or even could be modified as a pigeon loft.? We all joked we were going to rent it out as a tiny tiny house LOL.? Thanks Walmart for fast delivery - and to whomever makes this - good job :)
Great Shed! Once it's together it is plenty sturdy. It took me about 3 and 1/2 hours to assemble by my self. With and extra set of hands you could probably do it in 2.The directions included are pretty clear, but not very well worded. Mostly the pictures are the useful bit.If you can assemble flatpack furniture you can put this shed together. It fits my mower and snowthrower side by side in the back and all my other lawn tools. It will be a more usable space once I install some shelving. In assembly the most difficult part it attaching the roof which is a game of inches. I basically got one corner in place and fastened it then worked around the parimiter working it into place and fastening. It will take some patience. The other problem area to look out for is hanging the door. The pre drilled holes for the hinges do not match up very well and you will probalby need to drill new holes if you want your hinges to be strait.Even completely put together it is very light weight. A heavy wind could move it no problem, maybe even knock it over. You will want to attach it to the ground or make sure you put some heavy items in it.I would recommend it to a friend.
Great shed and easy to put together! Highly recommended!
This shed works great as a hen house. We have it inside a fully enclosed 12ft x 20ft (approx) enclosure, which we refer to as the coop. We've had chickens in the past at a previous house & knew we wanted somewhere between 5-8 hens, something super easy to clean & maintain, & that we could walk into rather than crawl in or only have arm access to the inside & this fit the bill. Most all the premade & kit chicken houses are so small & a terrible bother to clean (think about that before you buy one, even if it's cute). The advantages to this:*plastic, so harder for mites & other chicken pests to infest - pests love wood.*reasonably easy to assemble with a couple people*walk-in access for retrieving eggs or hens*hose down inside & out for easy cleaning*lightweight for easy moving if needed (but might be an issue in super windy flat areas?)*enough room inside to put some roots, nesting boxes & a little supplies*attractive from outside, looks like a cute little gray "house"Downsides:*lightweight so could be a problem for folks in windy, flat areas?*need a couple people to assemble it*might be too hot inside if not put in a shady areaWe have ours inside the large coop/enclosure which is in a protected, shady area, so wind & sun not a huge problem. We also removed the plastic window for better airflow & removed the plastic floor so it's bare ground inside (we do a natural composting dirt method for our litter). However, the plastic floor could be an added asset for those using a more traditional litter method & like the rest could be easily hosed down to clean. For a hen house it works great & is much more reasonably priced than the "cute" ready-made & kit hen houses that are on the market for 5+ chickens.
Easy to assemble (requires 2 people) Comes with two vents (1 on each end) I screened mine from the inside to keep [****] n such out. Also the window can be placed in either side of the shed. All screws + and instructions included
