They do a good job of heating two bedrooms

We have two of these heaters that we use in our mountain cabin where it gets cold. They do a good job of heating to bedrooms. Some reviews mention a ticking noise that happens when the temperature is turned to higher temps (75?). This is not our primary source of heat so we're able to keep them turned to 65 -- no ticking. Solidly built and they do the job. I'd recommend.

... only had a few days and so far works great. As advertised

Have only had a few days and so far works great. As advertised, this unit is silent except for the occasional expansion sounds inherent in any radiant heating device. Seems well made and does a great job heating my living room or bedroom at night. Controls are simple and intuitive to use. I may give it another star if it still works a few years down the road so it is too early to give it that 5th star.

Great Heater

I live in a New York City loft and the winters are cold because the windows pretty much let all the cold in. I bought one of these heaters which seem to bring the temperature up a few degrees faster than our inadequate furnace. Please note that the amperage required of these heaters is pretty high so if you have bad wiring or a few things on the same circuit, be prepared to result your breakers at your fuse box.

Nice unit but I don't believe that the temp setting is a true thermostat. Rather, it seems to set the output level instead of adjusting to the desired temp. In other words, if you set it to 70 when the amnient temperatures is say 65, it will get the room to 70. If you set it to 70 when the ambient temp is 70, it will get the room to 75. It doesnt shut itself off when the desired temp is reached.

Good heat source but......

Excellent Heat source for a 3 Season room in New England. HOWEVER, the first time we used it, a sizable amount of oil dripped out and ruined our slate for. I just thank goodness it was not on a rug. It has stopped leaking now but we keep cardboard under it in case the oil starts dripping again. Also, the source for powering must be read carefully as it should not be plugged in an outlet with any other plug, and it says Not to use an extension cord, which is limiting.
